The festival is now more intimately associated to the mutual exchanges with “love letters” or Valentines illustrated with symbols like a heart or a winged Cupid. From the sending of letters at the XIXe century succeded the exchange of greetings cards.

Each year approximately the sending of this cards has been valued at a billion for Sint Valentine’s day. Only the Christmas cards won by force of numbers during Christmas time. And women buy 85% of this cards.
